\n \nThe results of the project \u201cModernisation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through enhancement of Human Resources Management (HRM) function\u201d were presented on Friday 30 November 2018 at the University of Rijeka. The two year HRMinHEI project (2016-2018) is funded by the Erasmus+ European Union programme, whose purpose is to stimulate discussions on the organizational efficiency of higher education institutions, the ways in which higher education institutions develop and monitor human resources and encourage their excellence. The project was conducted by the Agency for Science and Higher Education, with partners of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka, Algebra University College, Danube University Krems from Austria and University of Tampere from Finland.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \nThe event was opened by prof. dr. sc. Snje\u017eana Priji\u0107 Samard\u017eija, Rector of the University of Rijeka and she emphasized the importance of raising awareness of Human Resource Management in higher education institutions and he formalization of the function. \u201cThe HRMinHEI project has yielded certain processes and tools useful to the University of Rijeka and I believe they would be useful to other higher education institutions in Croatia and Europe\u201d added Rector Prijic Samardzija.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \nThe conference presented an innovative online tool for self-evaluation and analysis of Human Resources Management (HRM) functions at European higher education institutions developed within the project and available at higher education institutions in Croatia and across Europe on the web site https:\/\/hrminhei.azvo.hr<\/a> \/.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \nHuman Resource Management Guidelines were also presented at the higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia along with selected processes and tools related to HRM development at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka and the Algebra University College. Participants also had the opportunity to hear how the University of Zadar and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy of the University of Split are developing this function.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \nThroughout the project, a document entitled \u201cOverview of recent European and national policies in regard to human resource management at higher education institutions within the European higher education area\u201d was created and published. This work provides a theoretical basis and framework through ten key dimensions of human resource management and illustrates their changes at higher education institutions. It also provides a brief discussion of the existing policies at the European Union level and also provides an analysis of human resource management policies in the field of higher education for the Republic of Croatia, Austria and Finland.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \nThe HRMinHEI project (Modernisation of Higher Education Institutions through enhancement of Human Resources Management function) is implemented by the Agency for Science and Higher Education from 2016 to 2018. The partners of the project are Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka, Algebra University College, Danube University Krems from Austria and University of Tampere from Finland. The project is co-financed by the Erasmus + European Union funds and amounts to 241 725 euros.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
