The Agency for Science and Higher Education conducts the initial accreditation of higher education institutions, scientific institutions and study programmes in the Republic of Croatia.
The initial accreditation of higher education institution is conducted in case of:
- the establishment of a higher education institution,
- a change in the status of a higher education institution.
The initial accreditation of a research institute is conducted in case of:
- the establishment of a research institute,
- a change in the status of a research institute.
The initial accreditation of a study programme is conducted in case of:
- the introduction of a new study programme at a higher education institution,
- a change of the co-provider of a joint study programme,
- a change of the delivery venue of a study programme,
- a change of the delivery language of a study programme,
- a change of the professional or academic title or academic degree acquired on completion of a study programme,
- changes to the delivery mode of a study programme,
- changes to more than one third of the learning outcomes achieved on completion of a study programme module or a study programme.
