Pursuant to the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22) the Agency for Science and Higher Education conducts the procedure of initial accreditation of doctoral study programmes.

The initial accreditation of doctoral study programmes is conducted in case of: 

  • the introduction of a new study programme at a higher education institution, 
  • a change of the co-provider of a joint study programme, 
  • a change of the delivery venue of a study programme, 
  • a change of the delivery language of a study programme, 
  • a change of the academic title awarded upon completion of a study programme, 
  • a change of the delivery mode of a study programme, 
  • changes to more than one third of the learning outcomes achieved on completion of a study programme. 

Pursuant to the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22) and the preceding public consultation, the Accreditation Council of the Agency for Science and Higher Education adopted the Quality Standards for Evaluations in the Procedure of Initial Accreditation of Doctoral Study Programmes and Instructions for Conducting the Procedure of Initial Accreditation of Doctoral Study Programmes.
