The Agency for Science and Higher Education organises seminars entitled Professional counselling in the higher education system: current state and challenges in the scope of SKAZVO project Improvement of quality assurance and enhancement systems in higher education, funded from ESF. The seminars will be held on the 15th of September 2017 in Zagreb and on the 22nd of September 2017 in Zadar.
The purpose of these seminars is to exchange the experience and provide mutual support in the development of career centres in the system of higher education, in line with the Strategy for Lifelong Career Guidance and Development in the Republic of Croatia 2016 – 2020, which encourages the establishment of an institutional model for the provision on career counselling services at higher education institutions and the recognition of good practice examples which can serve as a model for the further development of the system.
By organising these two seminars, the Agency aims to contribute to the achievement of the following goals:
- Gain insight into issues related to the establishment of career centres at higher education institutions
- Recognise challenges faced by higher education institutions’ management when establishing career centres and the challenges in the work of the existing centres
- Bring conclusions on the possibilities of establishing career centres with the purpose of providing appropriate support to students
- Bring conclusions on the training for career advisers needed which can be secured within the SKAZVO project during 2018.
