The Agency for Science and Higher Education hosted the seminar of the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education (ECA) on the topic of institutional accreditation held on 20 and 21 October 2017 in Dubrovnik.
The seminar was organized for the purpose of exchanging practical information and evaluation experiences in various countries, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by the agencies, focusing on the legislative framework and the environment within which individual agencies operate. The seminar gathered representatives of agencies from Canada, Germany, Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia and Cyprus and Croatia.
Participants were presented with a new cycle of re-accreditation in Croatia, external quality assurance reform in Slovenia, quality assurance system in Poland and Canada, and through group work, participants shared their experiences and suggestions for improving the quality assurance process.
The European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education brings together 17 national agencies responsible for licensing and accrediting higher education institutions of the EU member states, with the Agency for Science and Higher Education being its active member.
