Accreditation Council

The Accreditation Council of the Agency for Science and Higher Education was appointed by the Agency Management Board at its session held on 4 April 2023.

The constituting session of the Accreditation Council was held on 20 April 2023. 

This body is composed of 13 members: six full professors or full professors with tenure, two scientific advisers or scientific advisers with tenure, two teachers elected to the position of professor of professional studies or professor of professional studies with tenure, one full-time student of university studies, one full-time student of professional studies, and one representative of the business sector. 

The scope of work of the Accreditation Council is defined by the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science(NN 151/22). 

These are the members of the Agency Accreditation Council: 

  • Prof. Mirjana Hruškar, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development – Chair; 
  • Prof. Ivanka Netinger Grubeša, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the Rectors’ Conference; 
  • Prof. Alen Host, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the University of Rijeka;  
  • Prof. Danijel Labaš, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the Rectors’ Conference;   
  • Prof. Irena Burić, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the University of Zadar; 
  • Prof. Katija Vojvodić, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the University of Dubrovnik; 
  • Tajana Sekelj Ivančan, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the Institute of Archaeology; 
  • Nina Popović, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the Conference of Polytechnics. 

At its session held on 20 June 2023, the Agency Management Board appointed a further three members of the Agency Accreditation Council: 

  • Stjepan Lacković, Ph.D. – elected at the proposal of the Conference of Polytechnics; 
  • Luka Jurčević – elected at the proposal of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek; 
  • Katarina Podrug – elected at the proposal of the Polytechnic of Zagreb. 

At its session held on 18 December 2023, the Agency Management Board appointed the following member of the Agency Accreditation Council: 

  • Vedran Bajer – elected at the proposal of the Croatian Employers’ Association. 

At its session held on 4 March 2024, the Agency Management Board appointed the following member of the Agency Accreditation Council: 

  • Tihomir Balog, Ph.D., from among scientific advisers or scientific advisers with tenure.
