Aiming to encourage research excellence and increase the international reputation of Croatian science, the Croatian National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development launched the procedure of evaluating research quality for the establishment of Scientific Centres of Excellence.
The public call for proposals to establish Centres of Excellence was published in April 2015, and 30 proposals were submitted by the end of May.
