The ERASMUS+ project FAIR (Focus on Automatic Institutional Recognition) Report was published on the 5th of July 2017.

The Agency for Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and four Croatian universities were involved in the implementation of this project. The aim of FAIR project, funded within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme was to improve the recognition of foreign qualifications in Europe by introducing elements of automatic academic recognition of a qualification level within institutional recognition procedures. The leader of the project was the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the administrative support was offered by the Dutch Centre for Internationalisation of Education (EP-Nuffic). The project activities were implemented between January 2014 and the beginning of July 2017.

Thirty-five project partners participated in the project: representatives of higher education institutions, ministries, agencies and international organisations (European University Association, European Consortium for Accreditation) from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Croatia as well as the Danish Agency for Higher Education as an international evaluator. Project partners from Croatia were: Agency for Science and Higher Education, Ministry for Science and Education, University of Zagreb, University Josip Juraj Strossmayer Osijek, University of Split and University of Rijeka.

The role of higher education institutions in the project was, as follows: to evaluate their academic recognition procedures; to contribute to the development of enhanced recognition of foreign education qualifications’ procedures and the application of good practice; and to be involved in assessing the impact of the project.
